The Fox Future Classic this week is from a band that I'm sure no one really expected to be successful because they're fronted by an actor. Most actors-turned-musicians are awful...I'd write a list but it's way too long. Jared Leto, though, has actually managed to break the mold and become a force in rock music. Check out his band 30 Seconds to Mars' new single "Up In the Air"!

Before this song was heard by the masses, 30 Seconds to Mars shot the single into space! That's right...They put it on a rocket it and sent it into orbit. I'll admit that I've never been a huge fan of this band but they have put out some really good songs, like "Attack" and "The Kill".

"Up In The Air" sees the band creating another grandiose-sounding alternative track, similar to "From Yesterday". There's a lot going on and the song has a definite atmospheric feel. I'd be intrigued to see if the band can pull this song off live because, having seen them a few times, they always have trouble pulling off ANY song live. I don't think I've ever seen a band rely as much on the audience for vocals as Jared Leto and 30 Seconds to Mars do. Hopefully, they've altered that approach for their upcoming shows.
