The National Weather Service in Bismarck has issued a HIGH WIND WATCH for the Bismarck - Mandan area for Monday, October 23rd.

The watch goes into effect at 9 am Monday and will expire at 7 pm, for the Bismarck-Mandan area including the Southwest and South Central portions of the state.

Expect winds of 35 mph through most of the region, while some areas can expect wind gusts up to 55 mph.

These conditions can make it hazardous for high-profile vehicles in open areas such as the interstate and can be dangerous for workers on elevated platforms.

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 30 mph are expected.

Residents should secure loose items in their yard and patios.
