“Larger Than Life” Jay Leno Coming Back To North Dakota

THIS is one of the giants in the entertainment field. No doubt you have watched this man a million times on TV.
The TONIGHT show was and still is a staple in the entertainment industry. Nowhere will you find in the history of mainstream television a show with over 70 years of experience. I do realize that with cable and satellite, and streaming nowadays , there is major competition. The name Jay Leno was one of the legendary hosts on this show.

A tough role to face replacing a retiring legend

No doubt you have heard of Johnny Carson - the king of Late Night. He was a pure genius, with his Nebraska charm, his facial expressions worked every time ( even when he cracked a joke that bombed ) - Carson ruled the airwaves from October 1, 1961, to May 25th, 1992 - the battle for who would replace Carson was between Jay Leno and David Letterman.

The man who took over the main chair

Jay Leno stepped in as the TONIGHT show host on May 25th, 1992, and ran the show until May 29th, 2009. Once he "retired" from The Late Show, he still maintained his Las Vegas appearances ( stand-up comedy ) and his 2014-2022 Jay Leno's Garage show. He was seen in North Dakota from time to time in Minot. The famous Norsk Høstfest - an annual Scandinavian festival held in Minot, North Dakota
