“The Horror Of Holding It” On The Strip In Mandan
Well, listen, I know Halloween is not until late October, but all the horror happened today ( September 25th )
It was just a routine Thursday here on the strip in Mandan, at 4303 Memorial Highway. Just after 12:00 pm, however, all of that suddenly changed. I received a text message from a friend of mine, who manages Cennex right across the street from us - "Hey, is your water shut off?" - 10 seconds later, I gave Melanie her answer - "No water over here as well". Ok, so the number one question was, " How long will it be before we have water again?" - First of all, nobody knew this was coming.

"Well, I'm not sure; this was supposed to happen later tonight."
This is what a worker told me while he was munching on a burger from McDonald's - "Well, I'm not sure; this was supposed to happen later tonight." - I found out later this afternoon he was right, check this out: according to kxnet.com "Water will temporarily be shut off Thursday and Friday in Mandan to repair a water service line that was hit earlier this week, the City of Mandan says. A contractor will be repairing the fitting that connects the business service line to the water main, starting Thursday, September 25 at 8 p.m."
The water outage was expected to end tomorrow morning around 8:00 am
I understand completely all the work that goes into this Mandan Strip construction, but what I fail to comprehend is the complete lack of bathrooms - not just porta-potties, but BATHROOMS - since all of the businesses ( including ours ) had their water AND BATHROOMS shut off, as in can you hold it until you crawl out to a porta-potty. The scariest part is that there isn't a plastic outhouse within eyesight in either direction. So please wish us all luck.
