Richland County, ND – “How The Hell Is This Even Possible?”

Yesterday, some stunning pictures were posted on social media

Please take a look at this monster vehicle; it's pretty impossible even to imagine it could tip over, but here it is, photo evidence that THIS could happen. First of all, look at the picture one more time and tell me what you think this TANK is. I'll give you a second or two to come up with something. If you said a "Motor Grader", you would be on the right track.

So what exactly is a Motor Grader?

Well, according to machinerypartner.com "A grader, most commonly known as a motor grader or road grader, is a multi-purpose earthmoving machine that is used not only in construction sites to create flat smoother surfaces in road building projects but also in the mining/quarry industry for mining underneath the ground surface. They are uniquely structured and are primarily characterized by a long, large, and adjustable blade between the front and rear twin wheels"

MOST of the comments on The Bakken Oilfield Fail Of The Day Facebook page were of disbelief

There are over 190 comments on their page, and most people are amazed that this thing could topple over. But guess what, it is possible - according to machinatus  "Yes, it is possible for a motor grader to tip over, particularly if operated on uneven or unstable ground, at excessive speeds, or on slopes" Good news is that there were no reports of any serious injuries.

Here are just a few of the comments I saw:

"How do you roll one if those?"

"You know how hard it is to roll one of those?  Impressive"

This person below had this response that makes total sense....

"no I really don’t think you do. Snowplowing it happens quite a bit actually. When the shoulder isn’t froze, it’ll suck you in faster than you can react. Been running iron 30 years and it’s never happened to me… yet. Doesn’t mean it won’t. Reality is, never is a long damn time. You aren’t perfect. You don’t know everything. Sometimes people fuck up"
