As this year's NCAA Tournament for men's basketball approaches, that means it's time for conference tournaments across the country.

North Dakota State's season came to a close on Monday night (March 5th) as they fell to South Dakota State, 78-57 in the Summit League Conference Tournament semifinals. NDSU finishes their season at 15-17.

In the Big Sky Conference Tournament, the North Dakota Fighting Hawks have the #8 seed and will take on #9 seed Montana State on Tuesday afternoon (March 6th) at 2:05 p.m. CST. The winner will take on Big Sky Conference Champion and #1 seed Montana on Thursday afternoon (March 8th) at 2:05 p.m.

UND comes into the tournament with an overall record of 11-19 and will have to win the conference tournament to have any chance of claiming a spot in the NCAA Tournament.

Last season, UND won the Big Sky Conference Championship and the conference tournament to make their first ever appearance in the big dance and earn a #15 seed in the West region before losing to #2 seed Arizona in the first round, 100-82. During the 2016-2017 season, the Fighting Hawks went finished with a record of 22-10.
