“North Dakota Nice” – “Bismarck/Mandan Nice?”
This was one of the first things I heard when I moved out here ( North Dakota ) almost 15 years ago
"You are going to love the people out here. NORTH DAKOTA NICE" I heard that quite a bit when I moved out to Fargo from San Diego, California - it will be 15 years ago this March. For all who have grown up in North Dakota, as in Bismarck and Mandan, I see you nodding your head in agreement. I've actually experienced it firsthand as well. My favorite phrase is "If you have car trouble in North Dakota, 10 people will pull over immediately to see if you need any help, and they will ask you over for dinner later." Does that apply to social media, though? I'll let you be the judge.

Facebook platforms, for the most part, are regulated, as in monitored, as in watch your manners ( doesn't work though )
In America, freedom of speech is a basic tenet of our society. However, that doesn't give you the right to be crass or rude to other people. In Bismarck and Mandan, there are several social media pages on Facebook, one that I know of monitors its comments and posts.....see for yourself: This is from People of Bismarck Reporting News
****Beware - rough language *****
That is about as open and honest as you can get. As you can well imagine, this person didn't have a ton of positive comments backing up his polite opinion.
I like this friendly suggestion:
Some people will tell you to mind your own business - "it's a free country, we can say what we want" - Some will say "JUST don't go on this site at all..."
It's up to you. North Dakota Nice OR North Dakota Nasty?
