Not only nationwide, but worldwide attention has centered around a Fargo native, John Sampson. According to inforum.com "A Fargo native is receiving international attention for his heroic actions at an amusement park in Pennsylvania. John Sampson, who calls it “dad instincts,” saved a young boy who became stuck high above the ground at Hershey Park in central Pennsylvania"

Try and imagine walking around a fun, festive amusement park with your family, relaxing and enjoying the day, when all of a sudden you look up and to your horror you see a young boy wandering on the park's monorail"  abc7ny.com reported Sampson said the heart-stopping moment was over as quickly as it began.

"I just went into rescue mode," he said. "I didn't hear any of the other screaming because I was just really trying to find a way to get to the top of the building in order to help."

"That's what I think anybody would try to do..."

"That's what I think anybody would try to do. Any parent would want to save any child, whether it's theirs or not," Sampson said. Fortunately, the monorail was not in service.
