Jake Elliott kicked a 61-yard field goal with no time remaining as the Philadelphia Eagles beat the New York Giants, 27-24 in a wild finish.

Carson Wentz was 21 of 31 for just 171 yards and a touchdown. While the yards may seem lacking, Wentz made the key throws when they mattered. With just 7 seconds left, Wentz threw a 19-yard completion to Alshon Jeffery as he was able to get out-of-bounds and stop the clock with just 1 second left before Elliott kicked the long field goal that would make it just inside the right upright and be just long enough by a few feet.

The fourth quarter itself was pretty wild. After holding the Giants scoreless for the three quarters, the Eagles, who were previously up 14-0, surrendered touchdowns on three straight possessions, all within about a matter of six minutes.

The first two came on touchdown passes to Odell Beckham Jr., scoring from passes of 10 yards and 4 yards from Eli Manning. The third on a short pass from Manning to Lito Shephard that he would run in past the Eagles defense for a 77-yard touchdown to give the Giants a 21-14 lead with 7:21 remaining.

Wentz would then lead Philadelphia on a 75-yard drive on just 4 plays. After a pass interference call on what would’ve been a 36 pass from Wentz to Torrey Smith, Corey Clement ran in a 10-yard score to tie it at 21-21 with 5:40 remaining.

The Giants would quickly respond with a 52-yard drive that would eventually stall and end on a 41-yard field goal from Aldrick Rosas to make it 24-21 with 3:08 remaining.

Sure enough,Wentz drove the Eagles right back into field goal range. On 8 plays and 47 yards, the Eagles drove to the Giants 28 before settling for a 46-yard field goal to tie it t 24-24 with 51 seconds remaining.

The Eagles defense would force a three-and-out before getting the ball back at their own 38 with just 13 seconds left before Wentz, Jeffery, and Elliott worked their magic.

The first three quarters seemed much more of a defensive struggle, aside from an 18 play, 90 yard drive by the Eagles that ended on a 1-yard touchdown run by LaGarrette Blount giving the Eagles a 7-0 lead. The Eagles would take that into the half. In the third quarter, Wentz hit Ertz in the end zone on a 3-yard touchdown strike to make it 14-0.

Eli Manning would finish 35 of 47 for 366 yards, 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.

The Eagles (2-1) will play at San Diego next Sunday at 3:05 p.m.
