As if you did not already know it, North Dakotans tend to lead pretty laid-back lifestyles. We work hard and we play hard. And we know the best times in life are spent doing anything with loved ones. So, you will not be surprised to find out that North Dakota is among the "Top 5" states where people are the least stressed.

Did you know? North Dakota is the fourth least stressed state.

According to WalletHub, out of all 50 states, North Dakota came in as the fourth least stressed state in the nation. WalletHub reports that all 50 states were compared "across 41 key indicators of stress to determine the places to avoid and achieve a more relaxing life." Check out the WalletHub findings here.

TOP 5 LEAST STRESSED STATES:

  1. South Dakota
  2. Utah
  3. Minnesota
  4. Iowa
  5. North Dakota

As someone who is from North Dakota, who has also experienced living outside of the state, I can confirm that life is less stressful here. When I moved to Denver, I realized the simple things in North Dakota that I took for granted. The things I took most for granted were the near-nonexistent traffic in our state and the cost of living.

In Colorado, I could not afford to live near my job. My daily, 30-miles-one-way-while-in-stop-and-go-traffic drive could be stressful. One car accident or wild snow storm would make my trip HOURS LONG. While we loved our roommate, we could not afford to live without one - and rent includes communal fees. Also, it's expensive to register a car and get insurance in Colorado.

Ever since I moved back to good ol' NoDak, I remember to appreciate that living here keeps my daily life stress to a minimum.
