Be Grateful And Always Respect This Awesome Recreational ND Spot
That's the key in life, as far as I'm concerned - Always show your respect and gratitude
Yeah, that's a good rule of thumb: stay humble and appreciate the amazing things we have in North Dakota. I'll be the first to admit that I take certain things for granted, but I'm trying to accept life differently these days. Slow down and try not to stress too much.
An ideal spot to get away and take a breather
A little less than 2 hours and 30 minutes ( 149 miles ) is all it takes to get away for a while and take a drive out to 8235 37th St NW, New Town, North Dakota - Van Hook Resort : a place to come to to relax, breathe in some fresh air, and decompress for awhile.
Remember the part earlier when I mentioned "Be grateful" and "Always show respect"?
This year, up to 6 campgrounds in North Dakota will be fully or partially closed. Yesterday, on their Van Hook Resort Facebook page posted:
"The Army Corps of Engineers just announced the closure of two local campgrounds. (see below) Thanks to the Montrail County Park Board, it will be business as usual this summer at Van Hook. WE ARE SO LUCKY TO HAVE THIS PLACE! Let's take this as a reminder to take care of this privilege! Follow the posted rules, stay on the roads, use the facilities correctly, respect your neighbors, respect our lake, our land, our playgrounds, our picnic areas, and our beaches! Access to our recreation areas is precious. PROTECT IT!"
Always show your respect and gratitude - and we will see you out there this summer!
