Bismarck Bobcats Brandon Luisi – “Theater Of The Mind”

This is one of my favorite radio sayings of all time: "Theater Of The Mind"

Brandon Luisi does this extremely well. Don't be deceived by his amazing youthful looks ( NO, he doesn't peddle his bicycle over to our radio station ) - Brandon is our play-by-play radio announcer for SuperTalk 1270 AM - one of our sister stations for Bismarck Townsquare Media. He does this alone - keeps his own stats on the game while providing "Theater Of The Mind"

So what is that?

That simply means he paints a picture, images in our head, of what I think is the most difficult sport there is to call on the radio. More so than on TV, we rely of every word he says to describe all the fast-paced action on the ice. If you think that doesn't sound that hard, try it yourself sometime. As of today ( March 3rd ), our Bobcats are in first place by a slim margin. A HUGE home series ( and all the games are so vital ) this weekend against the Austin Bruins.

A 23-year-old happily married man from Bensenville, Illinois, Brandon came to Bismarck about 3 months ago.

He has been in broadcasting sports for about 4-5 years. His job is simple, YET mind-bogglingly hard. To fill us in on what we can't see with such detail, and to be so accurate to the exact second seems impossible. Here is the amazing thing: Brandon takes it all in stride, and he actually finds it not hard at all. Like all those who are naturally gifted, and are doing what they love so much, his goal one day is for all of us to hear his work in the NHL!
