Could This Ever Happen In North Dakota? NO

I HATE that old saying by Andy Warhol "In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes."

Andy Warhol was an American visual artist, film director, and producer. So what does that saving mean to you when you hear "...15 minutes of fame"  Well the obvious sticks out to me as someone who DOES something, or says something that immediately hits our idiotic world of social media. That's exactly what has happened to this person you see on the cover of this story, and I am hoping every day that the timer on her "fame clock" stops ticking.

Her name is Hailey Welch

That's the name you probably see on her driver's license - however ever since a video of her posted earlier this year, she is now known as the "Hawk Tuah" girl. So what do those two words mean? I wish I could give you a sensible answer - it's a vulgar term describing a sexual act - excuse the pun here, but she had no problem whatsoever spitting out her words in that viral video. Suddenly she has an agent, and is paid to make personal appearances  - am I jealous? Not at all - I'm not surprised one bit...

...because this is where I become completely disgusted and amazed at what happened this week

This person, who has no talent at all, stepped onto the mound at a New York Mets game and threw ( not spit ) the first pitch. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? What brainchild in the Mets promotional office thought this would be cool for all the parents in the crowd to even TRY and explain what "Hawk Tuah" means to their kids - and what it stands for - Ok so now I ask you - could this ever happen in North Dakota?

Absolutely Not

I hope you are nodding your head in agreement with me, North Dakota is not built that way - we have way more class than New York. There is no need to glamorize some person who has become famous overnight for a stupid, dumb gesture. Instead of settling for something so absurd and tacky, why don't you show a little effort and bring someone out there who sets a good example for his or her community - You will never see North Dakota choose to be insensitive by bringing in someone whose "Fame" came about in a raunchy filthy way.
