Apparently North Dakota is open for business...any old business will be fine, we're on a bit of a slide.

But go figure...if you frack up a place, you leave massive cavities in the earth that some would suggest are the perfect depositories for insane amounts of liquid carbon dioxide which wikipedia will tell us...

Carbon dioxide is the most significant long-lived greenhouse gas in Earth's atmosphere. Since the Industrial Revolution anthropogenic emissions – primarily from use of fossil fuels and deforestation – have rapidly increased its concentration in the atmosphere, leading to global warming. Carbon dioxide also causes ocean acidification because it dissolves in water to form carbonic acid.[20]

So the cool thing is...we'd get more money to F' up already F'd up land.  Mo money y'all!

Four states including North Dakota, are looking for an outhouse for their ethanol plants.  Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas created when cooking corn into gas. There are 17 plants across North and South Dakota, along with Minnesota, and Iowa, that are planning to participate in this $2 billion venture to capture these gases and turn them into liquid and pump them directly into North Dakota cavities. I'm not making this up...

Another factor that makes North Dakota an attractive option is the state’s authority to regulate the wells in which carbon dioxide would be injected. In 2018, it became the first state to assume that authority from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

According to Summit, the project has the potential to capture and store up to 10 million tons of carbon dioxide per year, which it said would be equivalent to taking 2 million cars off the road.

North Dakota regulate? Regulate? Please...

Stanley, Tioga, Ray, Ross, Wildrose...who am I leaving off?  How would ya like a $2 billion CO2 injection in your backyard?  Maybe you would...I'd like to know what ya think.  The article doesn't specify where the CO2 would go....but I suspect West Fargo isn't the final destination. (disclosure: the author believes West Fargo to just be "more Fargo").

Obviously they'll be pouring CO2 all over the streets of Williston and they'll like it.

Taking two million cars off the road and pumping them into Kenmare is going to make sense?

construction of the project could take at least 16 months and that it would create 10,000 temporary jobs. It expects the project to be operational by 2024.

Could I suggest some prime South Dakota spots?  Buffalo and Lemon, I'm talking to you!

Making me angry y'all.  Now go clean up western North Dakota like you said you would.

Jerks.
