What is your brush with greatness? Have you ever met a movie star or hung out with a rock musician? Social media makes it even easier to keep track of where our idols are, but BECAUSE of the media (Paparazzi) and their constant hounding of the famous celebrities, it's pretty hard to imagine you'll ever have easy access to being around one unless you are hanging out in Fargo-Moorhead.

There is a man that is completely approachable, he is a rock star in the cooking world, and he carries himself with class and major personality. He is easily recognized by his spikey hairdo - plus he can whip up something delicious to eat in about 12.5 seconds. His name, of course, is Guy Fieri, and according to The Inforum, as he walked around the restaurants downtown last summer, the businesses were faced with the restricted seating due to the pandemic. National exposure thanks to some of the North Dakota eateries that were featured on the Food Network show "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" literally put these places on the map. “We couldn’t have asked for anything better to happen the way it did,” says Alan Kasin, co-owner of Pounds. The downtown Fargo sandwich and comfort food spot was highlighted on Nov. 13, just as North Dakota issued a statewide mask mandate and restricted capacity in bars and restaurants in light of rising COVID-19 cases. Of the six restaurants Fieri visited, five of them have been featured. The general feeling between all the residents and businesses in the Fargo-Moorhead area is obvious, "Come on back anytime Mr.Fieri!!"
