Have YOU Received This Notice?
Well, it looks like my days are numbered - they FINALLY caught up to ME - BROMO - a wanted fugitive. When I moved to Fargo about 6 years ago, the running gag was "So let me get this straight, you moved from sunny San Diego, California to Fargo, North Dakota...Are you wanted by the law?" Today, September 30th sitting at my desk at our radio station, here on the 12th floor ( elevator STILL busted ) I received this:
Bromo,

The Jig is up..now someone please tell me what I'm wanted for, AND tell me what JIG means. I obviously received a scam attempt, someone ( and I doubt it's Mr. Baker ) is hoping I'll be naive enough to CLICK HERE. But the scary thing is that people fall for this all the time. The fact is that more and more people work from home now, and the scammer is hoping to somehow snake some personal information from you. A textbook use of what's called Phishing - The dictionary definition of that word is this - the fraudulent practice of sending emails purporting to be from reputable companies in order to induce individuals to reveal personal information, such as passwords and credit card numbers.
Always be on the lookout for e-mails asking you to CLICK HERE, it's a clever bait to reel you in. So listen, If I'm not on the air tomorrow and the voice you hear is the one and only GAMBINO, you'll know the whole story!
