I can somewhat relate to this story...

...for I spent a good chunk of my youth dreaming about being a professional athlete - I love all sports - MY problem was simply no athletic talent whatsoever. I did find myself competing in long-distance running in my college days, but I never stopped thinking about catching that winning pass in the Super Bowl. A pretty common dream for so many young athletes around the country, and for those who live in North Dakota, Minnesota has four major sports teams that one day may have a spot for YOU.

Now let's get back to reality

Of the four sports - football, baseball, basketball, and hockey - which one would you guess would be the easiest to turn pro? I mean nothing is EASY unless you are some kind of phenom ( which by the way happens from time to time )  -  I used to think it was probably football -  You would think a little math and common sense would come into play - a professional football team has 53 PLAYERS - there are 32 teams total - a combined 1,696 professional athletes.

If your guess was mine, you would be right...

...according to The Sports Geek

NFL: The Best Odds

Odds of 1 in 10,243 make football the easiest sport to go pro in, thanks to its large rosters and structured pathways like college drafts.

One of the HARDEST sports to turn pro: TENNIS

  • Tennis: With odds of 1 in 1,483,781, tennis is the hardest sport to go pro in, thanks to its high costs and global ranking system. You have better odds of winning the lottery than making it to Wimbledon.

Here is a NO SURPRISE statistic:

The easiest professional sport to turn pro for a North Dakotan is...

Hockey - North Dakota is #3 of all States - 1 in 18,473 make it.

So break out your skates and get on the ice!
