Intersection From Hell – Here In BisMan – Tests Your Patience
Funny that I've gone through this part of town a thousand times, and TODAY I became annoyed
I do want to point out that today is Friday, MOST people are getting into the "weekend" mode, and little irritations here and there are quickly overlooked or just plain ignored. Well, for some reason, I couldn't do either one of those that I just mentioned.
Ok, you might think this is another one of those observations about road construction
I'll put an end to that, it is not. So why did I suddenly realize the frustration and angst of this intersection in Bismarck that people travel through a zillion times a day? Not quite sure really, traffic was light, weather was accommodating - so WHY was I ready to pull my hair out of my head? I'll try and explain, and I will bet money that some of you will nod your head ( hairless head especially for those that know what I'm going to say )
South Washington/W Bismarck Expressway - The light from hell
I pulled up at this intersection with three cars ahead of me, and we all had the same goal: to simply turn left when the light turned GREEN - which it did. Here is when my head almost blew a gasket. Boom the it's go time, I look at the normal reaction of the person behind the wheel, a natural second of hesitation, and literally 3-4 seconds later the colors go from yellow to red!!!!
I sat there and counted for the next turnaround
Yep, our light was only giving us 5-6 seconds to move on and turn left. WHY? Is this some kind of deal that happens at other stoplights around the city? Is there some kind of stupid study on which spots and which lights should be longer due to a heavier traffic flow? Like I said before, I wasn't THAT busy to get THAT frustrated. I'm guessing I need to take this as a lesson of patience, and not always trying to get where I'm going without a 5-6 second traffic signal!!!!!
