I thought it might be a good idea to answer one of the most googled hunting questions out there:

Is it legal to use drones to hunt in North Dakota?

Drones are useful/good for many things. Not only that, they're just plain fun. that said, when it comes to using drones to your advantage in hunting the law is pretty clear.

Drones To Hunt

According to Advexure, in North Dakota it is illegal to use aircraft (manned or unmanned) for spotting game 72 hours before and during hunting season.

As a matter of fact, according to KFYR TV, it is a class B misdemeanor if you're caught hunting game with a drone.

Why?

I'm not much of a hunter, myself, so I had to look it up; why can't you use a drone to hunt in North Dakota? According to BowHunting.com, this oversteps the bounds of "Fair chase."

Fair chase refers to the sportsmanship, skill, ethics, and lawful pursuit of wild game.

States Where You CAN Use Drones

You might be surprised to hear this, there are some states where you could potentially get away with drone-hunting.

Now, I can't say with absolute certainty that you won't get in any trouble for using drones to hunt in the following states. However, I can say these states don't have any specific laws on the use of drones as it relates to hunting.

Kentucky

Maryland

Delaware

*According to the source, this excludes State Wildlife Areas.
