[VIDEO] Bear Spotted Running Through Fargo, North Dakota
It's not often you see a bear walking through the bank parking lot, or right outside of a local store, or in your front yard. That's what many North Dakotans witnessed earlier today. A young bear was spotted all over Fargo, North Dakota, earlier today, prompting laughs, fear, and even public safety alerts.
Blair Thorseon
The Fargo Police Department issued a statement on the bear's whereabouts at approximately 9 am this morning (April 9th).
After consulting with a wildlife biologist from North Dakota Game and Fish, the FPD is clearing the scene and urging residents to continue to stay away from the area and give the bear space to move through town and leave on its own.
People all over town posted updates on where they had spotted the black bear.
The police department went on to stress how important it was to stay away and treat this as a danger.
For everyone’s safety, including the bear, we want to emphasize: Do not attempt to locate or approach the animal. Fewer people in the area helps reduce stress on the bear and supports a safer outcome for both the community and the animal.
If you’d like to catch a glimpse of the bear, we encourage you to admire it right here in the comments rather than in person.
The department said the bear was seen traveling between 19th Ave. N. and 40th Ave. N., and from Broadway N. to the Red River.
