Lil Canoli – “Unconventional Love” Here In Bismarck
Her name is Witney Nielsen - she owns Unconventional Cookie and a pink dog named "Lil Canoli"
Since 2020, Witney has performed her talents and artistic cookie dough work to provide delicious cookies. In 2021, she moved her small business into the "Cookie Haus" - a small studio/house across the street from Bismarck High. Standing guard on the front porch proudly poised and facing kids walking by, was "Lil Canoli.
"So isn't it quite a nuisance being right across the street from a school?"
That is the one question Witney has answered for years. "I think it's SUPER GREAT!" she told me. Some of the kids have dropped by to rake the leaves, and no doubt said "Hi" to Lil Canoli. Witney has had this striking figure since her college days when Canoli was pained blue. For 4 years her friend was safe, untouched ( well numerous pats on the head ), and stoic. That tragically ended last Saturday.
Security footage was just a tad on the "Bubbly" side
Just after 8 am last Saturday Witney noticed Lil Canoli was gone. Shocked and saddened, she looked for comfort to find an answer to the possible thievery - bad timing - you see her camera was no use - " I unplugged the security camera that looks out onto the porch to plug in the bubble machine for MO's party and I forgot to plug it back in"
Everyone in the neighborhood ( and even outside of the area ) kept their eyes peeled
Of course, even the mailman was extremely interested in the return of Lil Canoli. It is at this point that Witney finds out just how many people do care. Take a look at this post from yesterday:
Best news of all time!
Today, on their way to school, some eagle-eyed people noticed there was a sighting of Lil Canoli about 6 miles north on Washington, on the side of the road - around 9 am this morning Witney's husband brought back her true love to the Cookie Haus!
You couldn't write a better love story than this - Thank you Witney - I'll be by one day soon to take a selfie with Lil Canoli!
