Plato’s Closet -20 Years In Bismarck- “This is your house too”

I hate to say this, but it's so true - it is extremely rare these days to find a business that has been around for 20 years

So take a look at the cover picture - Plato's Closet over on 204 W.Front Ave opened its doors for the first time exactly 20 years ago - March 17th, 2005. Plato's is one of 507 stores across the country - Bismarck's Plato's is staffed with people who genuinely care for one another - and THAT is how a business thrives - not for how they do at the cash register.

Jeri Poppe-Werner the owner relived that special day

"March 17 2005 we opened our doors to the public.  Most of our staff was in school so we only had 6 of us working until the rest came in after school" My guess is this is one of those moments you will never forget - I talked with her on the phone this afternoon for a bit - within 30 seconds it was obvious how grateful she is for her staff and especially all the wonderful 20 years of customers.

"You are the reason the doors stay open. So many of our customers are now bringing their children in to shop sustainable and that makes us smile.  Sustainable fashion is where it's at and we are helping do just that.  My favorite part of this "job" is the job itself. The customers, the employees, the Christmas parties we have and the community we have created. Youth Works Bismarck, we absolutely love working with you every year. You make us want to be better.

To our employees past and present.  Thank you for your dedication, thank you for creating a safe space for our customers and putting smiles on their faces, but I thank you from the bottom of my heart when I say "This is your house too", you did just that and took ownership. 

 To those that showed up during the "pandemic shut down" we can not thank you enough for your phone orders.  It was the highlight of our day getting to deliver your purchases right to your car door. To my parents, Jerry and Ardie, you've made my dreams come true"
