I love the title of this story, after all, WHO doesn't like to be scared, even just a little bit?

Well, today is the first official day, and for me, I start thinking about Halloween. That is one of my favorite days of the year. The cooler weather has rolled in, time to break out my favorite sweatshirt, and time for people to start making early plans for what they will be doing on October 31st. What kind of haunted house will they visit? I just so happen to know of an exciting new idea that will take place on that creepy night, in Mandan..

Morton County’s Most Haunted: The Trial of Elias Voss.

A Media Release from earlier today unleashed some haunting news :)

"This Halloween, the doors of the Morton County Courthouse will open not for justice — but for fear. On Friday, October 31 at 5:30 PM, the community is invited to step into Morton County’s Most Haunted: The Trial of Elias Voss, a haunted courthouse experience unlike anything the area has seen before. The event, imagined by the Morton County Security & Transports team and brought to life by community volunteers, blends haunted house thrills with immersive storytelling. Visitors will retrace the steps of a 1941 trial that never reached a verdict — and may discover why Elias Voss still lingers in the courthouse halls.

“This isn’t just costumes and candy,” said Corporal Zack Aguon, originator of the event. “It’s an experience that will make you feel like you are part of the story.” The haunted courthouse will feature eerie courtroom scenes, chilling characters, and unsettling encounters — all crafted by local volunteers and supported by community donations.

Admission is free, and children will leave with goodie bags thanks to local business sponsors. In addition, a free-will donation will be collected at the event to directly benefit Colter Hanson of New Salem, the son of Chelsey and Cameron Hanson. Colter is bravely battling Stage 4 Burkitt’s Lymphoma, and proceeds will go to support him and his family during this fight. Volunteers are still needed to help with setup, costumes, and performance roles. Anyone interested can contact the Morton County Public Information Office at 701-667-3480 or PIO@mortonnd.gov. #

Sound like a sppoky time for all!
