South Dakota AG “Confident He Didn’t Commit A Crime” In Fatal Crash

South Dakota Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg has spoken out for the first time since we learned he hit a killed a pedestrian on his way home one evening, a couple of months ago.

According to ABC News, Ravnsborg says that he is "confident he didn't commit a crime when he struck and killed a man as he drove along a dark highway in September." ABC News says that the investigation of the accident is still ongoing and it is yet to be determined if the South Dakota Attorney General will be charged. Get the full story from ABC News here.

It has already been determined that Ravnsborg was distracted when he hit and killed Joe Boever. Though there is audio of the Attorney General saying whatever he hit was in the middle of the road, Ravnsborg actually was driving on the shoulder at 65 miles per hour. Not only that, Joe Boever was using a light to lead his path when he was struck and killed. On top of that, Ravnsborg has a documented history of bad driving - eight citations in four years.

The ABC News report says that when Ravnsborg spoke out, he said, "I believe that we will, when we have all the facts, not a selected amount of facts, we’ll know the full story and we’ll make a full statement.”

The only two people who actually know what exactly happened that night are Joe Ravnsborg and Joe Boever. Ravnsborg did admit to accidentally hitting and killing Joe Boever and that he was "saddened" by the tragedy. But that is not even an apology to the victim or the grieving family.

Whether Jason Ravnsborg is "found guilty" or not, he admittedly took the life of a human being because he was not paying attention to the road. Because of that, Joe Boever and his family deserve at least a little bit of justice and a HUGE apology.
