The Burleigh County Sheriff's Department is investigating an incident at a rifle range south of Bismarck that left one person dead Sunday morning (10/16).

Hunters, now is the time to apply for deer gun and muzzle-loader licenses. The exciting news is that, after many years of license declines and lower deer population, this year more licenses will be available!

If you received a deer license in 2015 the North Dakota Game and Fish Department and UND may be sending you a survey.

As summer winds down and we start thinking about fall, many of us are a bit depressed but for thousands of hunters in our state it is an exciting time. If you threw your name in the drawing for the Deer season the results are out at ND Game and Fish.

Applications for the 2015 Deer gun season are due tomorrow, June 3rd. As stated earlier the bad news is there are fewer licenses than last year. North Dakota's Game and Fish Department says 43,275 licenses will be available this fall. The lowest number since 1978 and 4,725 less than last year.

It is months before the new deer season will be set but  North Dakota game and fish has made a decision on rules on regulations for the 2015 season.

Today at noon is the beginning of deer gun season, the North Dakota Game and Fish Department is proposing changes in the 2015 season.

The two day youth pheasant season takes place this weekend October 4th & 5th.
