Thank You Fargo Little Leaguers – Making Us Proud!!!
"Never ever be disappointed with the outcome"
Here is what I love the most about the Little League World Series - you get to watch these young boys AND girls now doing what they absolutely love to do - PLAY BASEBALL. The beautiful thing is when they are representing their town, their State - the pride is just beaming on the faces of each and every one of them. This year was a FIRST for North Dakota, as the all-stars from Fargo became the FIST team ever to represent North Dakota in the Little League World Series - at Williamsport, Pennsylvania. One thing that will never change...
...is the charming way these young superstars emulate their heroes
That by the way is my second favorite part, watching the kids trying to duplicate the same mannerisms as their heroes - Major League Baseball Players. All the way from their hitting stance, to wiggling the baseball bat the same way - imagining themselves one day walking out in front of a huge crowd - like for instance Yankee Stadium or maybe Wrigley Field. - check out this special moment:
OUR North Dakota Little Leaguers began their journey last Wednesday - the first pitch came - and went - yesterday they faced elimination from the tournament - and a loss came - and went We as North Dakotans were in a Win-Win situation - we all knew we were going to be proud no matter what the scoreboard said.
My personal thanks to these terrific heroes
You stirred up so many memories of my playing days, driving to the ballpark with my dad ( our coach ), my mom was the P.A Announcer for most of the games, hearing my name mentioned as I dug into the batter's box...but most of all, I'll NEVER forget these simple words we all said before the game started:
"I trust in God
I love my country
And will respect its laws
I will play fair
And strive to win
But win or lose
I will always do my best"
Thank you Fargo Little League All-Stars!
