Trails of Treats is happening this Friday night, October 30th in Mandan.  The Mandan Progress Organization (MPO) is hosting its annual Trail of Treats. Trick or treaters are encouraged to stop by participating businesses to gather Halloween goodies. “Our board spent considerable time deciding whether to move forward with the event this year in light of the pandemic. In the end, they agreed that the Trail of Treats can accommodate CDC recommendations and is needed, more than ever, to support our local businesses,” says Mandan Progress Organization Executive Director Dot Frank.

With virtually no trick or treating events in Bismarck Mandan this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this is something families can look forward too.  You can expect the weather to actually cooperate as well, temperatures are supposed to be pushing 50 degrees by the weekend.

According to a press release from the Mandan Progress organization, The Trail of Treats is the product of a small group of business owners who brainstormed events to draw people to Mandan throughout the year. “With everything that’s going on right now, it’s just nice to give kids something to do, something to look forward to,” says Melissa Herz, owner of RuLissa Boutique. “Its also a good way to get people out to see Mandan businesses,” she added.

Once again, The Trail of Treats is Friday, Oct. 30 from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Participating businesses will have an orange flyer in their window and all have committed to COVID-safe protocol including a designated staff member wearing PPE and social distancing measures. Trick or treaters are asked to wear masks and follow social distancing recommendations too. Event details are available on the MPO’s Facebook page.
