Taking financial advantage of an elderly person is not only wrong, it is actually elder abuse. Two men's acts of deception that cost some elderly North Dakota individuals tens-of-thousands of dollars. They have officially been sentenced for their scams against their elderly victims.

According to Bismarck Tribune, Bartley Gorman Jr and Sean Gorman, of Minot, have been sentenced to 15 months in prison and must pay $38,000 in restitution to the victims of their scams. The two men posed as licensed residential construction workers and fraudulently made people pay for bogus property fixes. The pair is allegedly part of a ring of people who commit construction scams

It is unfortunate when anyone gets their life's earnings stolen from them. But it is so much worse when this kind of devastation happens to an elderly person. I can't imagine it is easy to recover from such a financial blow when you are leaving/ no longer a part of the work force. I mean, it cannot be easy to recover from such financial loss during retirement years.
