It's pretty hard to imagine that we produce more Oil than Saudi Arabia and Russia, but it's true.

According to the US Energy Information Council, we have indeed passed Saudi Arabia for the first time in 20 years. We also passed Russia for the first time since 1999.

According to MYNDNow:

Ron Ness with the North Dakota Petroleum Council says this is something they've been anticipating for a few months.

He adds that thanks to constantly improving resources and technology, we expect to set another all-time production record this month in North Dakota.

That's great news for jobs locally, as well as the North Dakota economy as a whole. The ability to not be 100% dependant on foreign oil exports helps our position from a business perspective negotiating with these other countries on other exports. Hopefully, we can get to a place where our dependence on middle-eastern oil is minimal.

I wonder if it will reflect our price at the pump soon.
