After struggling with injuries on the offensive line all summer, the Vikings made a move to to bring in Brett Jones before the season starts.
The Vikes traded to grab Brett Jones from the NY Giants. Here's the story on him from the Vikings website:
Jones (6-2, 312) has 14 career starts for the Giants in 30 games, including 13 starts in 2017. He started his first career NFL game at LG for the Giants vs. Cincinnati (11/14/16). A former Canadian Football League standout, Jones is a native of Saskatchewan and attended Regina University in Canada. He played for the Calgary Stampeders in 2013 and 2014, helping the club to a Grey Cup title in 2014 and earning CFL All-Star honors that season. He was the CFL’s Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman in 2014. Jones joined the Giants in 2015 as a free agent.
The trade cost Minnesota undisclosed 2019 draft pick, and now the Vikings have shored up some depth on the line for Kirk Cousins.
