Will ND True Value Stores Be Affected By Bankruptcy?
A store brand that has been around for the last 75 years has filed for bankruptcy...
...will that affect the 8 stores that are in North Dakota? Bismarck had one at one time - True Value Hardware store dealing with homeware tools has filed for bankruptcy - currently there are True Value stores in North Dakota - Cooperstown, Elgin, Ellendale, Grafton, Kindred, Linton, Lisbon, and Wishek. They plan to sell to a rival company.
Their goal is to be sold by the end of the year. According to foxbusiness.com two days this news came out..."Wholesale hardware supplier True Value has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and is aiming to be sold by the end of the year to rival Do It Best. True Value, which sells hardware, tools, lumber, plumbing and heating supplies, and other home improvement goods, has between $500 million and $1 billion in total liabilities, according to its Chapter 11 petition in Delaware bankruptcy court"
Will that affect the 8 ND stores I mentioned earlier?
"True Value retail stores, which are independently owned and operated, are not part of the bankruptcy, and the wholesaler said it will continue to supply products to those 4,500 locations. The iconic brand has been around for 75 years" It obviously depends on what each individually owned and operated staff precedes to do from here on out. Sadly this is the demise of many businesses when Nationwide companies decide to either change their brand, file for bankruptcy, or sell to a competitor. Seventy years is quite impressive in the world of business - sells products to 4,500 independently-owned True Value retail locations.
