BisMan Salvation Army Red Kettle Kickoff -Helping Our Community
This event kicked off this morning at the Kirkwood Mall
Yes, it is that time of the season when events are planned to raise money to help out anyone who needs it in our community. It may be THAT TIME of the season, but in North Dakota, there are always people year-round that are doing things for others.
"Hope marches On"
This is the holiday fundraising theme this year! Check it out, YOU can make a difference by volunteering to ring bells, or donating to the Christmas Kettles, or simply giving a sustaining gift.
Ringing the bells loud and clear
We know the holiday season is upon us when we hear the bells! Heading into our favorite store, taking a stroll inside the Kirkwood Mall, we can hear the sounds of the bells. What is the first thought in your head when you hear that distinct sound? I think of people helping other people. I think of others taking their own time doing what they can to make others happy.
Mayor Steve Bakken and Major Nelson De Le Vernge
Keep this in mind, all the funds collected in the Bismarck-Mandan Salvation Army kettles stay local. Here is a gentleman that is a huge part of the Salvation Army Red Kettle: Major Nelson De Le Vernge
The bells are here to stay for the holidays
Get used to seeing the color red! Here is my favorite part of a press release I received from Mayor Bakken: "When you ring a bell, you become a hero to a child, to a single mother or father, to someone who finds themselves homeless, or to a struggling family. Your contributions could be the difference between a family staying in their home or falling under the poverty line and living on the streets" So give what you can when the bells are ringing.
