Like losing an old friend...that's what it feels like

It's not like this is the first business Bismarck and Mandan has seen close its doors. We have all read about restaurants finally calling it quits for several common reasons - one is a lack of employees, which is sad. This Bismarck place has so many memories of filling the minds of past happy customers - there is nothing more calm and peaceful than a quiet bookstore. The anticipation of picking up a book, being hooked right away by the author's title, and later on at home finding it almost impossible to put it down at night.

Here is part of what they posted this morning...

"It is with a heavy heart that we are announcing the closure of our Ferguson Books-Bismarck location. After a few failed attempts to find a buyer, an expiring lease and much thoughtful and prayerful consideration, our family has decided to close.

After almost 6 years, we are hopeful our customers cherished our time downtown Bismarck as much as we have. We are so thankful for God's blessings even when things don't go as planned. We are extremely grateful for all the customers, delivery workers, and downtown stakeholders we’ve worked with over these years, and will miss you all dearly.
We will be opening this week starting on Thursday running through Saturday 11a-6p. This week only, all items will be 50% off. Our last day will be Saturday April 27th"
No doubt their business here in Bismarck will be missed
That's the beauty of a bookstore..."Theatre of the Mind"
