Everyone's favorite greeting card, ornament, and all things sentimental store in Bismarck is soon to become a vacant spot in the Kirkwood Mall. The store's owners decided not to renew the lease. In less than two weeks, Lee's Hallmark will say "goodbye" to the shoppers of Bismarck and Mandan, after half a century of bringing "Hallmark moments" to the community.
Last Thursday (January 14), Lee's Hallmark Shop in Bismarck made the announcement that they will be closing permanently at the end of January. After 50 years in the Kirkwood Mall, the owners have decided to close the Bismarck location, and focus on the Minot and Fargo Lee's Hallmark Shops. Check out more details about Lee's Hallmark's final weeks in the Kirkwood Mall here.
I have fond "Hallmark memories" about shopping at Hallmark. My mom and grandma always used to shop for trinkets, goodies, and gifts at the Minot location. I got all my Precious Moments birthday figurines, Disney ornaments, and TY Beanie Babies from Hallmark. And, of course, Hallmark always had the best cards!
Since Lee's Hallmark is a locally owned business, I would like to do the "small business support" reminder. Just remember that shopping local is great for everyone in the community! When you spend your money locally, most of the money stays in the community. And your business supports local people who own and who work at local establishments.
Make sure to stock up on discounted ornaments, cards, and other gifts before Lee's Hallmark in Bismarck permanently closes at the end of January!
