Something so shocking and dramatic took just seconds to develop

On a bright sunny Friday last March in Bismarck, a tragic shooting that led to a woman's death unraveled in a parking lot. Yes, there were witnesses, and plenty of accounts of the police shooting. They were there to try and find out what the problem was with a female driver - a tip came in saying that she was driving dangerously.

As always, when something like this takes place, a fury of questions comes out right away - "Why didn't they shoot out the tires..." etc.

The date was March 7th

Even when you are watching an episode of COPS, you know that at some point it's probably been edited - all of us forget that police come across situations like this almost every day. In real life, there are literally seconds that officers have to respond. This video will show that - The Bismarck Police Department Facebook released this earlier today:

"Statement from Chief Draovitch:

"This video depicts the circumstances regarding the officer-involved shooting that took place on March 7th, 2025.
After a thorough and independent investigation, it has been determined that Officer Nathan Anderson acted with exceptional courage, sound judgment, and in full accordance with the law and department policy.
In a rapidly evolving, dangerous situation, Officer Anderson’s quick response likely prevented the loss of Officer James’ life and protected innocent people from harm, and he has been cleared for full duty.
At the same time, we recognize that a life was lost during this tragic event. No matter the circumstances, the loss of any life is felt deeply—and our thoughts remain with the family and loved ones of the deceased. We understand that grief and healing are not bound by investigations or findings. They are personal, emotional journeys, and we respect that process.
I thank the community of Bismarck for their patience during this investigation. We remain dedicated to transparency, accountability, and service"
