Ok, let's get something straight - a Perigee has NOTHING to do with plumbers

Plumbers, you say? That's quite odd, I know. You see the word Perigee is in the title of this story, my attempt at humor may have missed the mark -perigree has NOTHING to do with plumbers, it actually pertains to our moon we look at every night.

Tomorrow night is a very special night for gazing up at our moon - why August 14th of all nights? Let's just say we all may feel a little bit CLOSER to that big round ball of blue tomorrow night.

Astronomers refer to this "Earth to Moon moment" tomorrow night as "Perigree"

I think this is going to be awesome, check this out - Space Lane Facebook posted this earlier today:

"On August 14, 2025, the Moon will make its closest approach to Earth a point astronomers call perigee. This is when the Moon is at its nearest in its orbit, making it look just a little bigger, brighter, and more captivating than usual.

At exactly 18:00 UTC, according to EarthSky, the Moon will be at its closest point. While the size difference isn’t as dramatic as a full supermoon, it’s still a treat for anyone who loves watching our celestial neighbor. So mark your calendars, step outside, and look up. It’s a simple, quiet moment of cosmic beauty you won’t want to miss"
Tomorrow night, our Bismarck temps should be nice and comfortable for a sky show from the heavens
Enjoy the moon, almost reach out and touch it!
