Take a long look at the picture on the cover of this story...

...I couldn't stop thinking about it after I saw this cat - all by itself - It was impossible this morning to even comprehend why someone would just kick a cat out of their vehicle and drive away. Unfortunately, a friend told me that is common. Incredible. This morning in Minot, a father had just dropped his kids off at school. A couple of blocks down the road he saw a truck slowly come to a stop - in the middle of the road - seconds later this person peeled away with the cat sitting in bewilderment.

What would you do in that moment?

Without a doubt, I would have followed the driver - to get a picture of his or her license plate - which Robert successfully did. Here is part of a post from his Facebook page earlier this morning:

"This morning I watched this asshole dump a pregnant cat on the road. Luckily someone found her. I reported it, hopefully, they find them.

Update: they identified the driver!"
I was able to get Robert on the phone this afternoon - he sent off some info to a friend, who is a Minot Police Officer, and they put out a warrant for this person - Cruelty To Animals.  The cat was found safe and is extremely pregnant. At the time of his initial post, right after this happened ( around 7:50 am ) - several people on this group page - Save The Roof! Lost & Found Pets had expressed some disappointment in Robert for not going after the cat right away - my opinion is he did the right thing, by following this person who obviously showed no remorse whatsoever - What kind of selfish human being would take a pet, that has trust and love for YOU, and just simply disregard it and dump their animal in some strange lonely place? Once again it blows my mind that some people can be so cruel.
It was pretty comforting to read about all the people who wrote in concerned
I wasn't the only one who felt that sorrow, that rejection this cat must have been feeling. Whether you are a fan of the felines or not, imagine just being kicked out of someone's life/lives - thank you Robert - thank you to those who found the cat and who are taking care of her now - and to the person who callously abandoned this animal - SHAME ON YOU!
