R.I.P Quiet Riot’s Drummer Frankie Banali.
The music world of Rock and Roll loses another one, Quiet Riot drummer Frankie Banali - another victim of cancer, he was 68 years old. Classic Rock, of course, will live forever thanks to individuals and groups like Frankie and QR. The memories will shine and radio stations all over the world will blare out "Cum On Feel the Noize". This isn't just another garage band that showed up and became famous, this band has quite the resume. Quiet Riot - an American heavy metal band formed back in 1975 in Los Angeles. Banali was not with them from the start, he came on in 1982. A break-up between members of the group was announced back in 2003 due to differences and human nature - pretty hard to stay together for a long time, but like all the great legends issues became resolved and Quiet Riot was back at it - for the time being.
Tragedy struck when vocalist Kevin Dubrow was found dead in November of 2007 - "accidental cocaine overdose" was announced as his demise. Frankie Banali then made his own announcement that the band would be no longer. After a 3-year hiatus, Quiet Riot reformed with a new vocalist Mark Huff. The usual revolving doors of musicians in and out of bands are a common practice, and that took place till the present day.
Last year Banali faced a huge obstacle - he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, which eventually spread to his liver. He was given 6 months to live. After 16 months of battling and fighting an unbeatable foe, he lost his life amid his wife and daughter. His will, his drums, his strength will sound in the clouds -
