Just a few days ago, our whole world got some shocking news - The Prince of Darkness was gone. The nypost.com reported, "Ozzy Osbourne, who achieved enormous success as a pioneer of two disreputable but popular entertainment genres, heavy metal music and reality television, died on Tuesday. He was 76. He had been treated in recent years for a rare genetic condition called Parkinsonism, with symptoms similar to Parkinson’s disease, exacerbated by his chronic drug abuse"

It is to no surprise that this loss has brought out some real emotions from fellow musicians...

...to actors, and his fans all over the world. So here is a question for you: Did the Oz man ever perform in North Dakota? Well let's take a look back 18 years ago when Ozzie made a stop in Fargo, North Dakota. So many excited people lined up for hours to see his show, and MOST of them were rewarded with a fantastic show - some of them, however, ended up in jail.

"...Cass County (N.D.) Sheriff Paul D. Laney used his name in a sting operation..."

A very clever Cass County Sheriff, unbeknownst to "The Prince of Darkness", "...planned an Osbourne preshow concert party, offering the same perks in the rocker's "official" VIP tour packages, and mailed invites to 40 unsuspecting citizens under the alias "PDL Productions.

When the Ozzy fans showed up at the bash, Laney promptly handcuffed and arrested them on various outstanding warrants. He then held a televised press conference to congratulate himself on the successful sting operation" according to abcnews.com

An irate Ozzy stated to the press about the phony scam 

"Instead of holding a press conference to pat himself on the back, Sheriff Laney should be apologizing to me for using my name in connection with these arrests, It's insulting to me and to my audience, and it shows how lazy this particular sheriff is when it comes to doing his job" . North Dakota's brush with the Oz man ended with stunned fans behind bars - maybe the guards hummed an Ozzy tune as consolation.
