"It's not that big of a deal."

This was bound to happen, though. Anytime a new controversial law comes out, you are going to have those who will be upset and complain. A new so-called freedom was taken away from students, starting just 20 days ago ( August 1st ) - Senate Bill 2354 kicked in. This was solely directed towards cell phones and students in school. Many were irate when this began, and others said, "It's not that big of a deal."

"All personal electronic communication devices are stowed away..."

According to inforum.com "Senate Bill 2354 mandates that all personal electronic communication devices are stowed away and inaccessible during the school day. the new policy states that from bell to bell during the school day, students will not be permitted to use any personal device capable of voice, text, data communication or internet access, including cellphones, smartwatches, earbuds, or personal tablets or computers"

"So why are you still hating on the new State Law?

Of course, there will always be those who are dead set against any kind of change - this law wasn't designed to punish anyone. One Fargo Public Schools  Superintendent has said research has shown that "...the devices are negatively impacting the mental health of children and their connections to others.

If the phones ARE brought to school, they must be stored in the student's locker ( good luck with that ) - I personally believe in our world today, that school kids SHOULD be allowed to hold on to their phones in case of any kind of emergency.

Believe it or not, there are parents and students who have no problem with this law so far: Here is an anonymous post on the Bismarck people reporting news facebook page...

"Hey parents who hate the new cell phone policy....
I have a half dozen students who think it's no big deal (elementary, middle, and high school) who don't think the policy has changed enough to make a real difference from previous rules"
In other words, this is a lesson on how we all should adapt.
