Two overtime games this weekend produced a surprise result.... at least for one of the games.

In game number 1: The LA Rams beat the New Orleans Saints in OT to be the first LA team to advance to the Super Bowl since the LA Raiders did it in the '80s.  It was a hard fought battle that came down to a field goal in overtime. There was also controversy like there always seems to be in big games like this wherein the margin of error is so small.  According to ESPN, this is what Sean Payton had to say:

"Listen, it's a hard job for those guys because it's happening fast. But I don't know if there was ever a more obvious pass interference call that -- here it is, the NFC Championship Game. So, it's a tough one to swallow."

The no-call came with 1:45 remaining on a third-and-10 play from the Rams' 13-yard line, with the score tied 20-20. Rams cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman appeared to run into Saints receiver Tommy Lee Lewis and make helmet-to-helmet contact before the ball arrived -- sending the raucous Superdome crowd into a chorus of boos when no flag was thrown.

In game number 2: Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes made it interesting, coming down the field with 39 seconds left to tie the game and send it into overtime. The result (I dare to say) was pretty predictable when the Pats got the ball after the coin toss.  It was then a series of 3rd down and 10 heroics for Tom Brady and now they are in the third Super Bowl in a row.

It would be pretty fitting if the Rams who started this Brady Super Dynasty way back in 2001 ended it in 2 weeks.
