I am trying to imagine the fear that goes on when your kids are away at a daycare

I will say this right away, I have never had kids, so I can't experience this horror first-hand. This story is from a woman that has asked this to be shared. She did not give out the name of this daycare - here is part of what she posted:

"Re-sharing so my story can be shared, as well as the other Mama’s!

Unfortunately, this is only one of many stories at this daycare. We are a family that has also gone through this, as of Friday. I hesitated sharing, out of fear of judgment for leaving them in daycare so long, but out of hope that this will reach other families and prevent this happening to other kids, I decided to speak up. For legal purposes, I will not be sharing names or the name of the daycare..."
Her words of concern are for other parents in the Bismarck area...
...or anywhere for that matter, who may be suspicious of any severe mistreatment of your kids that are dropped off at a daycare. This is obviously a delicate matter, for if there IS any wrongdoing, any proof of like I said before - major neglect of her children- then it's time for people to know and be prepared.  Sickness and injuries to her kids have been observed by Trista - hostility from the daycare was returned back to her.
Here is what she wrote in its entirety:

Unfortunately, this is only one of many stories at this daycare. We are a family that has also gone through this, as of Friday. I hesitated sharing, out of fear of judgment for leaving them in daycare so long, but out of hope that this will reach other families and prevent this happening to other kids, I decided to speak up. For legal purposes, I will not be sharing names or the name of the daycare. We had been at this same daycare since the twins were 6 weeks old. As of October, we got new leadership.
It started a couple months back that Ruby was being neglected at daycare. Ross or I would pick her up at random times of the day and she would be left in a soaking pee and/or poop diaper. This was brought to the director on multiple occasions. There were a few times we came and asked for Ruby to be changed and they flat out told us, “I don’t know where her diapers are”, and then walked away. She often would run up to me and tell me that she pooped and her diaper would be soaked heavily.
A couple weeks ago, they started reporting Rustin for having “behavioral issues” at daycare, reporting that he was doing things that he never does at home. It concerned us because there were times they would call me and I could hear him screaming in the background. The director told both Ross and I on separate occasions that it could possibly be because they were “short staffed” in that room and had more children with “behaviors”. I had also started noticing at random times of pick up, staff would be grabbing Rustin in a very “in your face” manner. Not at all calm or gentle. I brought this to leaderships attention, which led to Ross and I having a meeting with the Director and her Supervisor. The director ended up trying to justify why her and her staff yell at the kids, saying it was because “some of these kids are very naughty”. I asked her if she was justifying verbal abuse to the children and she replied that “when staff have to ask nicely multiple times, of course they get frustrated and yell”. I told her I have worked in healthcare for 13+ years and would NEVER imagine trying to justify behavior like that towards patients and that maybe her and these staff members don’t belong in child care, because these are just innocent children. That meeting was so unprofessional and it got worse when later that day, the owner called me and screamed at me on the phone for 15+ minutes. She would not let me get in a word, accusing me of “bashing” her staff and having “no respect for them”. She was using profanity at me saying, “I have done this for many years and any time a parent tries to tell me kids are having more behaviors at daycare then at home, I have to call them out on their bullshit”, and threatened me saying, “I can choose to kick all your kids out of MY daycare at any time, and I know how hard it is to find daycare.” From that moment, I knew I had to I start looking for new child care. I am not sure what kind of owner thinks it is professional to speak this way to customers for bringing up legitimate concerns, especially when involving children.
My parents took the boys all of the next week. Rustin told me he was very sad because “teachers yell at me all the time”, so I didn’t want to send him back. Last Friday, we had given our two week notice for the kids to leave daycare. Later that afternoon, we got a call that Bristol hit her head and was dazed. When I went to pick her up, she was hysterically crying, couldn’t keep her eyes open, saying she was “so tired”, and that her head hurts really bad. The worker seemed very nervous and in tears when telling me that she “tripped and hit her head on the floor”. They couldn’t really answer my questions, and a women that I had never seen before asked me if I was going to take her to the ER. Since I didn’t have a lot of information, I told them I would monitor her for awhile before deciding. I tried to have her walk to the car, but she couldn’t even walk a straight line. It didn’t take me long to realize something was very wrong. She couldn’t keep her eyes open, told me she couldn’t see how many fingers I was holding up, and that she wanted to go to sleep. She just kept crying or falling asleep, not really making any sense when I asked questions to try to keep her awake. On the way to the ER, there were a few minutes she wouldn’t respond to me at all. I thought she died. I got her to the ER and she was admitted overnight to be monitored for seizure activity due to a severe concussion. She had a lot of confusion that night, vomiting, and very lethargic. Daycare harassed us all weekend, telling us we need to inform them of what happened at the hospital. On Saturday, they announced on the daycare app that two people in leadership were terminated. Sunday we informed them that our kids would not be returning and asked to see the video of her fall, so we had a better understanding of what happened and what to watch for with her. The owner messaged and said she would review the video and get back to us, but she never did. Later, they deleted us out of the daycare app.
Monday I had reported this to multiple parties to be looked into. Later that day, a friend brought a post on Bismarck Mommies to my attention and I learned that there are many families with similar stories from our same daycare. I know accidents can happen, but why not show the video if there is nothing to hide? We deserve to know what happened to our daughter.
Please feel free to share my story. I hope this reaches many families so that kids can be removed from that place. I don’t want other to experience what we have. Thank you for reading"Final note, Trista has watched the video, and now further investigations will continue. This is NOT a witchhunt aimed at specifically shutting down a business, however, if evidence and investigations do find any wrongdoings and children are in danger, then parents should be grateful for Trista's actions.
