Jim Harbaugh -Next Minnesota Vikings Coach?
Will a new era begin with Jim Harbaugh as the next Minnesota Vikings coach?
Well, definitely the time is right, especially after they just let Mike Zimmer go. He was their head coach from 2014 until the end of this last season. There was no love lost between Zimmer and general manager Rick Spielman ( who was also handed his walking papers ). Those two guys had a turmoil relationship. So now the door is wide open for a new head coach to light up a spark and bring the Minnesota Vikings a championship, will Jim Harbaugh be the man?
Who is Jim Harbaugh?
I know you probably remember him from his time in the National Football League as a player. He was a quarterback for the Michigan Wolverines in the mid-'80's, then went straight to the pros where he lasted 14 seasons. Most of his career was spent with the Chicago Bears. Homecoming for Harbaugh came in 2015 when he returned to the college ranks and was hired to coach his alma mater - Michigan. A head coach at any level is a tough job, if your team is riddled with injuries, and your team suffers, pretty much all the blame will land on your shoulders.
Minnesota Vikings have shown their interest
The Vikings have begun the process. According to espn.com "The Minnesota Vikings reached out to the University of Michigan and received permission to speak to Jim Harbaugh about their open head-coaching job". There was no meeting set up as yet. So again, are we going to see Jim Harbaugh wearing purple next season?
