Mandan Family Seeks Damages Against City/Police Officers
Time will never completely heal those who lose loved ones unexpectedly
I know the old expression that "Time heals all wounds" is supposed to bring some slight relief to those in pain, but it really never does help anyone who has lost a loved one, even if the person was sick for quite a while, the hurt never goes away. Just two years ago this past Tuesday John “Ernie” Prudente was attempted to be pulled over by the Mandan police, he decided to drive off, however. Two years may seem like a long time, but it's still just like it was yesterday for his family. John ended up dead late that afternoon and the question still remains, why?
Police chased him to an eventual stop, where a struggle ensued and the 36-year-old lost his life
So exactly what happened? That is what has been haunting the Prudente family every day for the last two years. According to kxnet.com "The family of a Mandan man who died after a traffic stop two years ago has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the city and several police officers. The suit seeks unspecified money damages" The family knows of how he passed away ( An autopsy found Prudente died of “excited delirium” as a result of methamphetamine use and underlying conditions kxnet.com reported ), their questions stem from "why" and "what" caused the chase and the struggle. The police officers that were involved in the incident were never mentioned by name, and they were eventually cleared of any wrongdoing.
