I have a friend who drives almost 200 miles roundtrip to sit in her car for a bit and enjoy all the goodness Sonics Drive-In offers her and her daughters - I used to think she was a bit too extreme, but not anymore. There is a Mexican restaurant in Minot that has come back to save us!

After a year and a half of closed doors - last Friday was their first day back

If you never spent time in Minot, North Dakota or maybe you were just passing through, no doubt you won't forget the amazing Mexican restaurant that was at 2035 North Broadway - El Azteca was the name, and it was a popular place - for good reason - the food was delicious. The previous owners sadly last year had posted on Facebook about closing its doors for good -

"Hello everyone!! Just to clarify few things regarding that changes at El Azteca. I am not closing El Azteca because I’m in bankruptcy or lack of Bussines or any other negative reason. The people who know me know that I have been planning to move out minot for a while. I couldn’t find a buyer worth selling my business to , so now I decided renting my building to a new business would be the best decision for me. I’m so happy, I can finally start in my new dream, go back to school, enjoy my family, travel and focus in myself and my new goals"

 New owners - new look - same cooks

Last Friday El Azteca reopened! According to Kxnet.com "...new owners Luis and Perla Gonzales are keeping the same cooks to help with the authenticity of the food"  and "...they have a new logo with their restaurant name, and their awnings have the colors of the Mexican flag. In the future, they are hoping to get a drive-thru"   Remember now, they are NOW open - who is up for a drive north??
