Former North Dakota State University wide receiver Darrius Shepherd has become the latest Bison to earn an NFL contract after capitalizing on an invite to the Green Bay Packers' rookie mini-camp.

The Packers had two spots open their roster, and Shepherd impressed the team enough to be offered a contract. The Packers did not draft a wide receiver after letting former Pro Bowler Randall Cobb leave in free agency.

Shepherd won four national championships during his time attending NDSU. He had easily his best individual season last year, finishing the season with 62 receptions, 1,065 yards and nine touchdowns in 15 games. He finished is career with 188 catches, 2,841 receiving yards and 22 total touchdowns.

He isn't the only member of the 2018 Bison team currently employed by the NFL. Quarterback Easton Stick was drafted by the Chargers, while center Tanner Volson was signed by the Chargers and Bruce Anderson by the Buccaneers. There are six other former Bison players on teams:  Carson Wentz (Eagles), Nick DeLuca (Jaguars), Billy Turner (Packers), Joe Haeg (Colts) and Jalen Allison (Bucaneers).
