Well, you talk about your "It sure seems like forever" episodes, thanks in part to the coronavirus, life here in Bismarck and Mandan have been a nightmare. The month of March brought us doors shut tight from businesses to schools. Driving around downtown a couple of weeks ago was like watching a creepy movie. The streets were empty, hardly a soul walking around. So many people almost "handcuffed" at home. Just recently, the "light at the end of the tunnel" wasn't there. The near future seemed dark and dreary.

The sun finally came out with Gov. Doug Burgum's new guidelines for restaurants, bars, theatre's and other everyday places we have missed so much, TODAY - May 1st - feels like a brand new start. Imagine seeing cars in a parking lot - Krolls Diner here in Mandan for instance. A couple of their employees told me yesterday, that TODAY is their first full day - 7 am - 7 pm. They told me how eager they are to have the opportunity to serve diners inside for a change. Not every establishment is chomping at the bit to get back at it. There are some places that are willing to take "Baby steps", to ease back in slowly, and make sure their place is clean and safe. The relief of having our lives somewhat back in order is felt everywhere. For more on this click here.
