Any time you hear or read the word "Recall", pay extra attention

This happens from time to time when the public is usually alerted to a food item that has been pulled off immediately due to health issues. It literally could be anything

basic from dairy products, to poultry or meat - many times it's something quite common that we have in our refrigerators. Just recently FDA (  Food and Drug Administration )

"... upgraded its current classification of Marketside Broccoli Florets to Class 1, which is the most severe type of recall" according to 25newsnow.com

"Broccoli sold at Walmart in 20 states..."

Every time a scare like this recall rolls around, we all take a second to try and remember what we consumed the last week or so. The initial recall was announced late

last year - usatoday.com reported "...Braga Fresh, based in Soledad, California, issued a voluntary recall and product warning for Marketside Broccoli Florets - The FDA

announced the initial recall on Dec. 31, 2024, for Braga Fresh's washed and ready-to-eat 12-ounce bags of Marketside Broccoli Florets"

What exactly is Listeria monocytogenes contamination?

Listeria monocytogenes contamination is a common cause of food poisoning. Symptoms are fever, chills, aches, vomiting, and diarrhea. Here is the scary part

"...the FDA labeled this a Class I recall − the highest recall risk level issued by the agency, as it can potentially lead to death"
