It seemed like just yesterday I posted a story about HOPE, an inspiring grasp of change

That CHANGE  I referred to is out on our highways in North Dakota, for the excited discussion of our speed limit changing. Of course, heated debates were talked about on both sides. I mean, "What's the big deal if our speed limit increases from 75mph to 80?" Heck, on a personal note, my 2001 SILVER Chevy Impala can barely get to 70 mph - and that's going downhill with a severe wind pushing me. Remember all the talk of House Bill 1298?

Just two years ago, North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum had his concerns

He made it known and he sided with the argument that the slight increase to 80 mph would increase fatal accidents. I imagine there is plenty enough information you can read on Google about a simple 5-mile increase. This morning the news we have all been waiting for.

Was today the day House Bill 1298 would FINALLY happen?

All the hopes and dreams of blazing down our highway at 80 mph were finally voted on today at the House - According to Inforum.com "The House narrowly killed House Bill 1298 on Thursday, May 1, by a vote of 46-45, with three representatives not voting. The bill needed 48 votes to pass" One of the arguments for this to pass is that other states like Montana and South Dakota gave the green light to go that speed on their interstates.

I'm quite sure that many people will continue to drive that 80 or even 85 mph anyway
