These kinds of stories are not rare at all here in Bismarck and Mandan

We ( Townsquare Media Bismarck ) have asked the question many times of Bismarck and Mandan residents - "What kind of business would you love to see come to town?" Now that very same question by the way makes Kristyn Steckler laugh. This young lady works at CRA - Commercial Real Estate Advisors. She is a Bismarck native and has a few wishes on which businesses would move here at this location.

First of all, does anyone recognize exactly WHERE this is?

If you guessed behind the Taco Bell ( the one with the potholes in the parking lot that could swallow Godzilla ) over on South Washington Street - you are correct! There is a big empty field there, and today I saw a sign posted on the grass representing what could be a thriving mini-strip mall. I immediately wished for a Trader Joe's or maybe an  In-N-Out burger restaurant! It's not that easy for your/my wishes to come true.

Kristyn's job is to help people grow their businesses, to help them reach their goal

That's also what she loves doing the most, she also knows that when she reads of all the desires of people, including myself, of WHAT could move here, it isn't that easy. There are restrictions and zoning qualifications - plus the potential new business does some research on its own to see if it would be successful here in Bismarck or Mandan. So long story short, it's still ok to WISH for YOUR favorite business to move on in, BUT it probably won't happen. That is what makes her laugh, all the suggestions of what people WANT, but sadly won't get.
